''Ophichthus kunaloa'' is an eel in the family Ophichthidae (worm/snake eels).〔(''Ophichthus kunaloa'' ) at www.fishbase.org.〕 It was described by John E. McCosker in 1979.〔McCosker, J. E., 1979 (8805 ) ''The snake eels (Pisces, Ophichthidae) of the Hawaiian Islands, with the description of two new species.'' Proceedings of the California Academy of Sciences (Series 4) v. 42 (no. 2): 57-67.〕 It is a marine, temperate water-dwelling eel which is known from the Hawaiian Islands, in the eastern central Pacific Ocean. It dwells at a depth range of , and leads a benthic lifestyle, inhabiting fine sand sediments and crevices in harder substrates. Males can reach a maximum total length of .〔 ==References==
